Intro to Calvary:
If you are new to Calvary or would like to learn more about us, you are warmly invited to join us for an "Intro to Calvary" meeting in a few weeks during the 12pm service. Intro to Calvary is a time for you to meet a few of our pastors and staff members, hear the history of Calvary Monterey, learn about our beliefs, and ask questions. This is a great time for you to get connected and learn as much as possible before you decide to make Calvary your home church. Get more information and sign up today on our website.
Life Groups:
There’s a common experience that many will testify to around here: there’s Calvary before Life Groups and Calvary after Life Groups. You see, Life Groups help make a big church feel smaller because it’s where we follow Christ together. Side by side, we commit to spending time in God’s Word and in prayer for one another. For 3 months, we meet weekly with about a dozen others to focus on three main things: biblical group discussion, prayer, and fellowship. And this is when we experience the church in action. It is our hope to see everyone in our church family belong to a Life Group! So, get ready and mark your calendars: registration begins online on August 28th and meetings will begin the week of September 11th. If you’re interested in being a leader or host or would like more information, please reach out to our Life Groups Director, Jeanine Staton, or visit our website.
ISI:
We want to tell you about a wonderful local outreach ministry we've supported for a long time called International Students Inc. ISI befriends international students who are attending MIIS, Middlebury Institute of International Studies. In August, many new international students will be arriving in Monterey and starting their extremely busy and stressful master's degree programs. Many of these students hope to be invited into an American home for a meal and friendship. Would you be available to invite a student for dinner, become a friend, or tour our beautiful peninsula? We also need more volunteers to drive students to church. Students who connect with ISI know we are Christians, which makes it natural to share our faith and pray with them. If you would like to be that person, please email John & Joyce Steers, our ISI ministry leaders.
